Mamáma - Givenchy Haute Couture

Hello All, 

After a long absence due to being really busy (no excuse!) here's an illustration I did some time ago (Acrylic and color pencils on paper) It's a portrait of my beautiful great grandmother  Elena Lecuna de Urdaneta a.k.a Mamáma, as in three times a mother, an outstanding mother that is. She is wearing that breath-taking swan dress from Givenchy Haute Couture-Spring 2011. I hope you enjoy it and believe the promise that I will be more diligent with posting art more often!

Caballo Viejo!

This a screen I made for some T-Shirts! They turned out pretty good considering I burned and printed them myself (not recommended) But it is kind of an idea I've been playing for a while, "Caballo Viejo" means "Old Horse" and it's a popular folkloric song from my country (Venezuela) and the tentative name for a capsule collection of a clothing line I want to put together, eek! The face in this drawing is the lovely model Jessica Stam...hope you like it!

Hello Friends! I hope you are having a great Thursday! I'm so excited for Easter! I love how the weather is starting to change here in Los Angeles, the summer is getting closer! And of course I'm looking forward to the calorie/mimosa/nutella crepe infused Sunday brunch! Any exciting plans for the bunny hunt?? I wish I had these Louis Vuitton Silk Bunny Ears to wear to my brunch :)

Life Asymmetric

So here's another drawing! This is part of the ink drawing series I did for the current show at  FUR  gallery. I got a really nice response from it, it seems to connect with people at some level, and of course that's wonderful! I really like this illustration for a number of reasons, one it was a lot of fun to draw and just let loose with the lines and the other is that it gives me a sensation of peace...I don't know, what do you guys think? whoever is out there in that long lost universe reading this?  

Torera! Bullfighter!

This is part of the drawing series! The jacket reminds me of a Bullfighter. Their uniforms are always so intricate and beautiful, and everything has a special meaning, tradition and beautiful textures! I'm a sucker for that.

A Louis Vuitton Bust

I finished this drawing a couple of months ago, I wonder how those Louis Vuitton ears would look on a real person? Apart from Madonna of course. I figured they would look better on a bust! Anyway, hope you like it :)
